Wire-Free Installation with Virtual Boundaries

Unlike traditional robotic mowers, the Aspire™ R6V does not rely on a physical boundary wire. Instead, working areas and exclusion zones are created digitally using satellite-based positioning, all configured through the Automower® Connect app.

From an installer’s point of view, this means:

• No ground cutting or cable installation
• Flexible setup that can be adjusted as the garden changes
• Temporary stay-out zones for planting, landscaping or garden projects
• A cleaner, future-proof installation

For this system to work correctly, Wi-Fi coverage must be available across the entire lawn area. This is one of the most important considerations we assess before recommending this model.

Wi-Fi Coverage Requirements Explained Clearly

The Aspire™ R6V relies on continuous Wi-Fi connectivity to receive positioning data via the Husqvarna Cloud. This delivers excellent accuracy, typically better than 5 cm, when coverage is stable.

Before installation, Wi-Fi coverage can be checked easily using a smartphone in the garden. Where signal strength is marginal, we regularly improve performance by:

• Repositioning the router closer to the garden-facing wall
• Installing Wi-Fi range extenders or a Mesh Wi-Fi system

For gardens where Wi-Fi is unreliable or impractical, there are professional-grade alternatives available, including:

• The Automower® Connect kit, enabling cellular connectivity
• The Husqvarna EPOS® RS1 Reference Station, a stand-alone solution requiring no internet connection and offering even higher accuracy of around 2–3 cm

These options require professional installation and configuration by an authorised Husqvarna dealer.

Intelligent AI Vision for Safer, More Reliable Mowing

A key upgrade on the Aspire™ R6V is its built-in AI camera system. This allows the mower to visually detect and identify objects on the lawn, helping it avoid collisions with items such as toys, garden furniture or pets.

In practical use, this significantly reduces stoppages and improves reliability. The AI vision also works in combination with satellite navigation, allowing the mower to maintain full coverage as long as it can see grass, even in areas where satellite signal strength is reduced.

Customisable Mowing Patterns and Finish

Unlike many compact robotic mowers, the Aspire™ R6V allows you to select visible mowing patterns through the app. Options include:

• Striped patterns
• Checkerboard designs
• Triangle patterns

Using these patterns, the mower supports a maximum working area of 600 m².

For customers who prefer a more traditional, carpet-like lawn appearance, the irregular mowing mode is available. This delivers a random pattern finish and is optimised for lawns up to 400 m².

Everything Controlled Through the Automower® Connect App

All setup and control is handled via the Automower® Connect app, available free on iOS and Android. This is where mowing zones, schedules and stay-out areas are created and adjusted.

Once configured correctly, the system is largely set-and-forget, with the flexibility to adapt throughout the season as the garden evolves.
